FORMAT: Short-form narrative, original musical
ROLE: Director and Editor
My good friends at Snarky Films, Chris and Unison Colthurst, reached out to me to direct and edit their 2021 submission for the 48 San Diego Film Project. It wasn’t my first 48HFP, as another short I worked on, In Memoria, won Best Film in the 2019 Washington, D.C. 48 Hour Film Project. But it was my first time working with these two insanely talented individuals on a narrative piece since meeting them in 2015 when we worked on “Tonight in San Diego.”
As with every 48HFP competition, your film’s elements are unknown until they’re revealed at 7:00 P.M. on Friday night. The genre is chosen at random, so I knew very little about what we’d be in for.
In fact, there were only two things I knew for sure:
There would be music.
And there would be puppets.
